Requirements
Applicants must meet the Math and English proficiency to enroll in the technical training program.
Recipients must pay for the first semester of the tuition, fees, books and supplies.
The FUNDET scholarship award is between $1,000.00 to $1,500.00
Students will sign a SLCC Release of Information form to allow FUNDET to follow their program progress..
Scholarship recipients must complete the registered courses during the semester.
The students will pay for repeated courses.
Scholarship recipients are required to perform 10 hours of community service a month.
Students will be assigned a FUNDET mentor and must attend a monthly Academic Progress Interview.
At the completion of the training program, students must be ready, able, and willing to
enter the workforce.
For ESL (English as Second Language) FUNDET will sponsor only Level 3 and 4 in SLCC
1. Salt Lake Community College Application Process
In-Person application assistance is available on most campuses.
Social Security Number is not required to register at SLCC.
International students with F-1 visa do not qualify for the FUNDET Scholarship Program.
Students will meet with FUNDET Mentor to complete the enrollment process.
2. FUNDET Scholarship Application Process
Students must complete the Google Doc Form: https://forms.gle/PzCMt9MRHMH5WxDS6
Students will contact their FUNDET Mentor to give and update on their enrollment process.
The FUNDET Scholarship Determination Committee will meet with the students to review the application, explain scholarship criteria, answer questions, and determine the award.
The FUNDET Program Director and Budget Manager will award the scholarship.
Students must meet the scholarship criteria of progress, values, and community hours.
Students will meet with FUNDET mentor for the Monthly Progress Interview.
Students who do not meet with FUNDET Mentor run the risk of having to pay the late fee.
Students will request from their instructor a monthly progress report with comments on class performance.
Students will practice the monthly value and write an essay on how they applied the value at home, school, and at work.
Students will comment about what they like about the program of study and make
recommendations.
Students who drop out of their program due to negligence, will reimburse financial assistance in full to Salt Lake Community College.

Important Items to Remember
Some health care programs require immunizations, criminal back ground check, and drug test; these services are paid by the student.
Immunizations are offered in the Center for Health and Counseling at a lower cost.
For ESL (English as Second Language) FUNDET will sponsor only Level 3 and 4 in SLCC
The professional truck driving program requires a Utah criminal background check and drug test; students must have a valid social security number or other official documentation to obtain the professional driver’s license.
The Certified Nursing Assisting (CNA) and Professional Truck Driving programs are 2 months long. The college requires that the student makes full payment at registration. FUNDET will request SLCC 50% reimbursement to the student of the program tuition and fees upon program completion.
